There are two on-campus housing options for longer-term stays:
The GEM has furnished apartments with full kitchens, double beds, en suite bathrooms, and air conditioning. They will furnish bed linens, but not kitchenware. It is located across campus from the Tsunami Research Facility, about a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bicycle ride. The GEM is located near restaurants and shops and is about a 10 minute bicycle ride from a grocery store/department store. The building is newly renovated; it has laundry (coin operated), workout facilities, game room, and large screen TV available to residents. The GEM offers long term contracts for stays longer than six weeks. This is the best option for long term stays.
Cauthorn Hall offers a standard college-dormitory double room, with shared bathrooms, located a 10-minute walk from the facility and close to a dining hall, recreation center, and other OSU facilities. It also has an on-site laundry and supplies linens. Large-screen TV, game area, and a small kitchen are available in the main lounge. Daily/weekly cost varies, based on the length of stay. Researchers may need to purchase meals due to the limited cooking facilities.
Off-campus, the Hilton Garden Inn is the closest hotel, located just a few blocks from the Tsunami Research Facility.
Researchers can also try the Visit Corvallis website, which has more housing options. Go to the bottom of the lodging page there for long term options. Most of them are far enough off-campus they would most likely require a bicycle or car. (Note: OSU campus surplus sells abandoned or recovered bicycles starting at $5 apiece once a week. They are good transportation, but not usually very fancy.)
