On December 26 of 2004, one of the most powerful earthquakes in decades generated the great Indian Ocean tsunami that was among the deadliest disasters in modern history. This tsunami is estimated to have released the energy of 23,00 0 Hiroshima-type atomic bombs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) . Is believed the tsunami have killed more than 150,000 people and made millions homeless in 11 countries.
